Laura Ingalls Wilder: By the Shores of Silver Lake; The Long Winter ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (rereads)
Dante: The Purgatorio ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (unread) This was challenging for me because it is medieval allegorical poetry -- a concoction of Catholicism and mythology. At times, difficult to decipher, and others, intolerable to swallow. But I get it: it's a notable work of its kind, and it has MEDIEVAL VIBES!!!

You have put forth an interesting and wide-ranging array of reading prospects here. I am looking forward to The Group, by Mary McCarthy, which comes out on Audible tomorrow. Currently, I'm listening to Revealing Revelation which was on your February list of books read. In addition to the author's knowledge, he also comes across as a friendly and likable narrator of this work. I'm glad to have found out about it from you.
ReplyDeleteI think I transposed the author's title Revelation Revealed in my note to you. Not for the first time. Please bear with me.
